THE CCDRC CENTRE, KATSINA

The noble idea of establishing "COMMUNITY CONFLICTS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTRES (CCDRC)" accross the State was initiated by the State Chief Jude Hon. Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, in his response to the current security challenges in the State.

he Centre, which was proposed to be under the supervision of Katsina Multi-Door Courthouse (KTMDCH) intends to buid peaceful communities thrughout the State, by providing a forum for members of the communities to communicate, address conflicts and work together to restore peace, by providing solutions that all parties can agree and to improve and not hurt the relationship.

The CCDRC educate the community by engaging in public awareness and educational activities about the values and practices of mediation. The Cenre also services as a resource for collaborative community relationships. This involves the use of trained community volunteers as providers of mediation services, with the practice of mediation open to all persons.

The Centre operates based on the Mediation and Arbitation Procedures applicable to the KTMDCH, that is the Mediation and Arbitration Procedure Rules (2011) and Sulhu Door Rules (2011) Practice directions. Also, the Hight Court Civil Procedure Rules (2017).

The pioneer model of the Centre has been established for Kambarawa-Kwado-Makera, a cosmopolitant community within Katsina Metripolis.
