WHAT KIND OF CASES DOES THE CCDRC HANDLE?
All cases dealing with minor domestic and community disputes are handled by the centre, including:
- Court and community refered neighbourhood matters, such as noise complains, debt, neighbourhood disputes in land, marital disputes and matters relating to children to provide a forum for dispute resolution and engagement at the ealiest stage of the Dispute
- Matters referred to the police ward and village head, Community leaders, Youth developement, school administrators, government agencies, and non governmental organisation (NGOs) ,to provide an administrative to the juducial system at the earliest stage of conflict.
- The CCDRC also welcomes walk-in caseswhen all or one of the parties and/or Attorneys agree to come to the centre to uncover and resolve the underlying problem that drives the conflict making a good resolution possible
- The CCDRC in addition to settlement and resolution of minor domestic and community disputes serves as community and neighbourhood watch that will perform such functionsare screening and approving tenents and landloard agreement and persons wishing to buy a house in the neighbourhood, so as to find a person of good character who will cause no harm to the community
